The Albany City Area Reading Council (ACARC) is a professional, non-profit organization for educators in the Capital Region. We work to improve literacy instruction and opportunities for children and adults by:

  • Encouraging the study of and interest in literacy

  • Fostering professional literacy learning communities in the greater Capital Region

  • Sponsoring professional development events for educators

ACARC is an affiliate of the International Literacy Association (ILA) and a New York State Reading Association (NYSRA).
